"The Best Brainstorm" sponsored by
Our judges would encourage all entrants to undertake a careful "brainstorm" before "putting pen to paper." In this particular category our judges wish to see evidence of the complete response to the brief, from research, the initial "brainstorm" of ideas, through the stages of rough design, to finally the finished advertisement.
This is a separate category. If students wish to enter final designs only then this is perfectly acceptable.
CATEGORY C

A slight addition in 2008 will see our judges also shortlisting the best 5 Junior and 5 Senior designs. These will be showcased in the newspaper and we will invite readers to vote (limited to one vote per household) for "The Readers' Choice" in both Junior and Senior sections. These winners will be announced along with all the other winners at the two June events.
Please note that all entries in the web banner, web page and PowerPoint categories must be supplied electronically - i.e. on CD - so as to allow us to showcase them effectively. Also all entries in all categories must come via schools.

NEW SENIOR AWARD FOR 2008
The Collas Day "Legal, Decent, Honest & Truthful" Award
All advertisements must comply with the Advertising Standards Authority Advertising Code of Conduct. This famously states that advertisements should be "Legal, Decent, Honest & Truthful".
The award will go to the entry/entries that, in the view of the judging panel(s), show these qualities best, while still providing attractive, effective advertisements.
A representative of Collas Day will sit on the judging panel and will be looking for work that displays the best characteristics of advertising.
Certainly, the winning advertisement will comply with the Code, will have been designed to be clear, readable and striking, and will have that special something reflecting the thought and effort that has been put in.
There is no limit to the number of entries a student can make.
Businesses are willing for approaches to be made to them by students seeking to find out more about the nature of the business and product / service offered. We again have an award to recognise the best use of research, kindly provided by Itex. Show you've researched well and you could win!
