The information panels tell the gripping stories surrounding the disasters, which date from the HMS Sprightly in 1777 to the Vermontborg in 2003. Details: The Guernsey Aquarium, as the tunnel is known, has been housed in La Vallette tunnel for 31 years. There are currently forty-seven separate displays, ranging from local sea fish to European freshwater fish and finally to tropical marine fishes, anemones and inverts of various kinds. Also on display are frogs, toads, terrapins and basilisks, our resident lizards. All fish are fed 2 -3 times every week on squid, beef heart, sand eel and sometimes sprat as well as a once a week supplement of flake food to supply necessary vitamins and trace elements. The lizards are fed fresh fruit three times a week and live insects e.g. crickets and locusts, twice a week.

Details: A work of art and a labour of love, the Little Chapel is possibly the smallest chapel in the world. It was built by Brother Déodat who started work in March 1914. His plan was to create a miniature version of the famous grotto and basilica at Lourdes in France. Guardianship of the Little Chapel now rests with Blanchelande Girls College, which is run by a Charitable Trust. The Little Chapel is beautifully decorated with seashells, pebbles and colourful pieces of broken china and the College has an ongoing programme of repairs and improvements.
