The Charity is organised as a Limited Company with Charitable objects. Member no. 020 of The Association of Guernsey Charities
Guernsey Welfare Service has been supporting the Island for over 100 years. Current activities include:- * The provision of Aid to the poorer members of the community in the form of Vouchers for basic items such as food, clothing and fuel. * Providing and running a "pre-school" play group for underprivileged children. * Fund raising in order to provide the above services. In order to cover most of the employment costs of a welfare worker and the pre-school staff, some financial support is received from the States of Guernsey. All other costs are borne from donations made by various sectors of the community and by the voluntary work of the fund raising committee, directors and friends of the Charity, whose continued energy, loyalty and commitment ensures the survival of the organisation.
Our office in the St Martin's Community Centre is open on the mornings of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 am to noon
